About Course

The Oasis of the Reassured Academy conducted a specialized training course for its staff as part of the “Learning Recovery Techniques” program in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, with the aim of developing the skills and expertise of psychosocial support facilitators in working with children affected by war.

The training was led by Dr. Safwat Diab, a specialist and researcher in education and the psychological and social well-being of child victims of war, who emphasized that the high quality of the training was a result of the team’s clear desire to learn and benefit from the experience. The participants demonstrated strong motivation and contributed to in-depth discussions that addressed counselors’ interventions and real-world field issues, thereby enhancing the quality of the discussion and the practical training.

Dr. Safwat highlighted the importance of applying the acquired expertise and knowledge to direct work with children within the centers, stressing that the Palestinian community displaced to the Arab Republic of Egypt is in urgent need of healing and recovery programs to address the effects of war. He also stressed the responsibility of the participating staff to share this knowledge with their peers in the Gaza Strip and to apply it immediately upon their return to implement comprehensive interventions that promote psychological resilience and recovery.
